Meet Dominique

Real clinical experience, taught with heart

Courage begins with knowing what to do.

Dominique Wesson has spent her career caring for people when it matters most. A Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), she has worked in a heart clinic, in pediatrics, and in urgent care, caring for patients from newborns to seniors, and she has a special love for phlebotomy. Her calm, steady hands put even the most nervous patient at ease.

At home, she is a devoted wife, married since 2013, and the proud mother of two. Anyone who knows her will tell you she is sweet, gentle, patient, and always the first to offer a helping hand.

So it is only natural that Dominique now teaches others how to help. As a certified American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, she brings real clinical experience and a warm, encouraging spirit to every class. Her students leave with more than a certificate. They leave with the confidence to step in and save a life.

“They leave with the confidence to step in and save a life.”

Why This Training Matters

Be ready for the moments that matter

Everyone can help.

Emergencies don't wait for an ambulance. The first few minutes matter most, and the person who acts is usually whoever is closest.

Senior Care & Assisted Living

Older adults face a higher risk of heart attack, choking, and falls. Caregivers and family who know CPR and first aid can keep a loved one alive until help arrives.

Daycares & Childcare Providers

Children choke, fall, and have allergic reactions. Childcare workers are often required to hold current pediatric CPR and first aid, and parents trust providers who are certified.

Schools & Teachers

Teachers, coaches, and staff are first on the scene for students and athletes. Knowing how to use an AED can save a life on the field or in the classroom.

Hospitals, Clinics & Healthcare Workers

Healthcare roles often require up-to-date certification. Dominique brings real clinical experience from heart, pediatric, and urgent care settings.

Churches, Gyms & Workplaces

Anywhere people gather, emergencies can happen. Trained staff and volunteers make your space safer and may help meet workplace safety requirements.

Parents & Families

Be the parent, grandparent, or neighbor who knows exactly what to do.

Anyone can learn to save a life.

Calm hands. Clear mind. Ready heart.

The bravest thing you can do is be prepared.

Be the help you would want for your family.

One class today, a lifetime of readiness.

Kindness in action looks like CPR.

When it matters most, you will know what to do.

Love your people enough to learn.

Certification Rules & Renewal

CPR Certification Rules & Renewal

Stay ready, stay certified.

What to know about keeping your Red Cross certification current.

01

Valid for 2 years

Red Cross CPR certification lasts 2 years after you successfully complete your training.

02

Digital certificate you can verify

You receive a Red Cross digital certificate with a unique ID and QR code, so employers can confirm it is valid online.

03

Renew before it expires

There is no extension: you are not certified after your expiration date. Red Cross refresher courses generally require a current certificate, or one expired no more than 30 days.

04

Hands-on skills count

Online-only courses do not meet workplace requirements. Blended learning (online + in-person skills session) meets OSHA workplace requirements.

05

Your employer may have its own rules

Employers and licensing agencies (healthcare, childcare, schools) can set their own requirements. Check with your employer or licensing agency.

06

Renew with Dominique

Dominique teaches the full Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended course, $90, with a new 2-year certificate on completion.

FAQ

Questions, answered

No question is too small when a life is on the line.

Is there a grace period after my CPR certificate expires?

No. Your certification ends on its expiration date. Red Cross refresher courses generally require a current certificate or one expired no more than 30 days, so plan to renew before it expires.

How do I renew my CPR certification?

Take a new Red Cross class before your certificate expires. Dominique teaches the full Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended course for $90, and you receive a new 2-year certificate on completion.

Will an online-only CPR class work for my job?

Online-only courses do not meet workplace requirements. A blended course with an in-person skills session, like Dominique's, meets OSHA workplace requirements. Always check with your employer or licensing agency.

Who certifies the class?

The American Red Cross. Certificates are issued digitally after you pass.

How long is the certificate valid?

Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification is valid for 2 years.

How do I reserve?

Click Reserve a Seat, choose your class, and pay online. For larger groups, see our on-site training for businesses.

Can you come to us?

Yes. Dominique offers on-site training for groups and businesses, including night shifts.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in. You will kneel on the floor to practice chest compressions on manikins.

What is the online part?

The course is blended: an online portion plus an instructor-led, hands-on skills session. The Red Cross says to allow about 2 hours 30 minutes for the online portion, which must be finished before you attend the skills session. Do it on a computer or tablet with a high-speed internet connection.

How long is the in-person skills session?

Dominique will confirm the session time when you book. Please arrive on time, since skills checks cannot be shortened.

How and when do I get my certificate?

When you successfully complete the course, the Red Cross issues a digital Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certificate, valid for two years.

Is there a minimum age?

Please contact us at 816-522-1697 or dominique@dwcpr.com before booking for a younger student.

Where is class held?

Classes are held in the Kansas City and Raytown area. The exact location is sent to you after you book.
